Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these courses for?

These courses are separated into several classes for different grades: Kyu Grades, Brown Belts, 1st Dans, and 2nd Dans and Above. Each class is tailored to the grades, and all ages and abilities are welcome!

For Brown and Black Belts there are also special Dan Grading classes to help prepare you for Dan Gradings throughout the week.

We have had people from age 4 right through to 87 training on our courses.

How much Karate training will I be doing?

You can choose how much you train!

If you pay for the week you have full access to train as many sessions as you like. There are 9 Core Classes in the morning, as well as two Dan Grading classes on Tuesday and Wednesday for those who are Brown Belt or above.

If you'd rather just come for a day or two, there are Daily Rates which give you access to all the classes on that day, including the Dan Grading sessions if you choose Tuesday or Wednesday.

What do I need to train on these courses?

To train on a Train with the Champions Course you need to make sure you have an up-to-date KUGB licence, and we would recommend bringing mitts, gumshield, and other protective gear if you are taking part in the Dan Grading classes.

Yes! On the Friday of both courses there will be a Dan Grading, for those going for 1st or 2nd Dan, as well as a Kyu Grading for all grades below.

In order to Grade you will need proof of your Instructor's permission, the allocated time between Gradings (at least 3 months since your last Kyu Grading or 6th months since you graded to full 1st Kyu), your KUGB licence book, and any protective gear for Dan Gradings

(ie. mitts, gumshield, etc.).
